Bonterra Wines are Organic
Bonterra wines that “Organic grapes produce the purest expressions of the varietals and land on which they are farmed.” Bonterra does not use any chemical sprays but uses their animal partners to get rid of pests.

McNab Cabernet Sauvignon
One of the original Biodynamic® vineyards planted in the United States, McNab Ranch is the agricultural heart of Bonterra Organic Vineyards. This single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has a brilliant, deep red hue and opens with an appealing chorus of black currant, fig, and dark chocolate aromas. Firm though fine tannins frame a generous mid-palate that leads to flavors of cassis, toast, portobello, and subtle minerality. Suggestions of tobacco and anise harmonize on a lingering finish.
Tasting Notes
The 2020 McNab delivers wonderful complexity and elegance, with round, full fruit, and age-worthy structure. The nose offers a basket of sweet purple, blue and black berries scented with vanilla bean and a touch of summer bramble. The palate bursts with blue fruit and plums braided with fragrant mocha, cedar, cloves, pepper, savory herbs, and pencil lead. Tightly-woven oak tannins support the wine through its long finish of mint tea and black fruits.
The Roost Chardonnay White Wine
This Biodynamically farmed, single-vineyard expression of the extraordinary Blue Heron Ranch is a classic Burgundian-style Chardonnay. The wine opens with notes of lemon, baked apple, and crème brûlée, balanced with brisk acidity. Barrel aging provides an elegant finish with a touch of toffee and nutmeg.
Tasting Notes
Bright and aromatic, the 2020 vintage delivers fresh and nuanced complexity with a juicy fruit core. Aromas of nutmeg and orchard fruit compote open into ripe pear and green apple on the full, smooth palate, with subtle shades of fresh fennel, tarragon, chalk, and baking spice. A long and spicy finish brings notes of preserved lemon and warm apple-pear pastry.
The Butler Red Cuvée
Reflecting thoughtful farming practices, our biodynamically grown fruit delivered a notable depth of flavor in 2020. Complex flavors of black currant, plums, black pepper, and mushrooms are layered over herbaceous notes of oregano and bay leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins and a lingering finish. The Butler will continue developing layers of character with an additional five to ten years of cellaring.

The 2020 vintage offers extraordinary finesse, power, and intensity. Earthy notes of pepper, game and wild herbs underscore lovely blue fruit aromas on the nose. The muscular palate delivers spicy mixed berries and purple fruit, with charismatic slate-tinged tannins that support the wine throughout the clean, peppery blue fruit finish.
