In the MCE Deep Green Program, power is sourced from renewables such as wind and solar power, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and also investing in sustainable development. As a member, it also means that Lotus is supporting local projects that reinvest in a healthier environment and clean tech future.
About MCE Deep Green Program
MCE is a public Not-for-Profit Electricity Provider funded by customer revenues. MCE created a local renewables development fund. Half of the revenue generated each year from the Deep Green program is set aside to help make new local generation projects a reality.
Lotus Green Initiatives
For several years, Lotus has been working hard to reduce their environmental impact. In 2013 Lotus completely remodeled and switched their appliances to Energy Star appliances. They are now a certified Bay Area Green Business and as such are continuously working on more eco-friendly improvements to their restaurants.
Lotus is also sponsoring and supporting many green organizations, both local and global, including San Rafael Clean, Bioneers Conference, Marin Organic, and Marin Green Drinks.
