Marin restauranteur Surinder Sroa, of Lotus Cuisine of India, is completing the one-block move from his current location at 704 Fourth St. in downtown San Rafael to the former Pizza Orgasmica at 812 Fourth St. on Dec. 1.
In addition to the restaurant, the spacious new space allows Sroa to bring back a larger version of his predominately vegan, gluten-free and organic Indian market similar to the former Lotus Chaat and Spices in San Rafael’s West End neighborhood that closed in early 2019. The marketplace offers groceries, snacks, ancient remedies, home products, Indian spices and more.
Lotus Cuisine of India is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 5 to 8:30 p.m. daily. Lotus Market hours are 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. More than two dozen free parking spots are available at the Lotus Market entrance at 805 Fifth St., behind the restaurant.
